While many current Giants fans are already associating Odell Beckham Jr with the term legend, he still has awhile to go before he reaches Lawrence Taylor’s level of legend. People are not wrong to call Beckham a legend, he has done incredible things in the league and broke quite a few impressive records in just 3 seasons, but he still has some mountains to climb before dethroning Lawrence Taylor of the title of greatest Giant of all time. Lawrence Taylor was drafted by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft at 2nd overall. Lawrence Taylor’s talent was quickly noticed, being called ‘Superman’ by his teammates. Taylor racked up quite the list of achievements in his NFL Career including NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, NFL Sacks Leader, 3x NFL Defensive Player of the Year, 10x Pro Bowler, 2x Super Bowl Champion, Hall of Famer, and ultimately number 56 being retired by the New York Giants. He is a player that will forever go down in history in the New York Giants history books and rightfully so. So for current Giants superstar Odell Beckham Jr to look up to him, he chose quite the role model football-wise. Last season, Beckham was commonly photographed wearing a hoodie with the number 56 on it to represent the former Giants linebacker. This season, Beckham once again shouted out to the Giants legend in his latest Nike advertisement when he was spotted sporting another 56- this time on his ear. Odell Beckham has a long ways to go before topping Lawrence Taylor, but if he keeps up his pace he might be on track to get there.
